Building — iOS & AndroidBeacon is a social availability app built around one signal: I'm free right now. Instead of texting around to see who's up for something, you light a beacon, choose what you're open to, pick who sees it, and show up on a live, minimal dark map for exactly as long as you're actually available. No feed, no scrolling, no public performance — just temporary, intentional availability.
A beacon disappears the moment it expires or you turn it off. There's no history of where you've been, no followers, and no strangers — only mutual friends can see you at all.
Hanging Out, Going Out, Gaming, or After Dark — choose what you're open to before you light up, so people know what they're showing up for.
Every beacon goes out to specific friend lists you choose, not your whole friend graph by default. After Dark carries its own extra privacy rules.
Friends who are currently available show up as live beacons on a minimal dark map — there's nothing to scroll, only who's around right now.
Beacons run for a set duration (3 hours by default) and vanish on their own. Beacon-related messages expire after 24 hours — nothing lingers.
Friendship requires acceptance on both sides. There's no follower model, and no strangers can find you on the map.
